1) Eat high fibre foods
It is the best method to prevent and relieve constipation. Fibre contains water and helps food to pass easily through the gut. Good sources of fibre include; Vegetables, fruits, salads, cereals, beans.
2) Drink a lot of water
This is very easy. The reason you get constipation in the first place is probably because you do not drink enough fluids. It is recommended to drink at least 2.5 litres of water a day so, that is6 to 8 glasses of water a day.
3) Exercise
Exercise helps your intestines move food better and faster. These excises include; Walking, jogging, swimming, yoga or just maintaining an active lifestyle. Aim to exercise at least 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes.
4) Avoid constipating foods
Foods that promote constipation should be avoided. These include, but are not limited to, bananas, plantains, junk food.
