10 signs that show that ovulation is approaching or that you are ovulating

Many women know easily when ovulation is near or when they are ovulating. However, there are women who have trouble recognizing the signs of ovulation. The ovulation period varies from one woman to another, but in general, ovulation occurs on the fourteenth day of the menstrual cycle.

Here are 10 signs to help you recognize that you are about to ovulate or that you are ovulating.

1) Increase of vaginal discharges

Due to changes in the hormonal level, vaginal discharges will increase before ovulation and just at the time of ovulation, so you will notice discharges similar to “egg whites”.

2) Increased sexual desire

Your sexual desire may increase or you may be easily excited when your menstrual cycle is approaching ovulation. It is generally thought that this depends on our biological need for reproduction.

Some women notice that their sexual desire increases during ovulation, which could be a way for Mother Nature to ensure that we keep the human race! But, as Moore says, “sexual desire can be influenced by anything, even if you have a glass of wine or just in the mood.”

3) Swollen vagina or vulva

The lips of your vagina or vulva can become swollen and more sensitive.

4) Ovulation pain

This kind of pain often scares women because it is easy to mix with pain caused by some kind of inflammation of the genitals. But pain at the time of ovulation is quite normal.

5) The cervix becomes soft and its position is high

Just as your vaginal discharges change when ovulation approaches, so does your cervix. In the period when you are most fertile, the cervix of your uterus will be higher, sweeter and more open. It is usually harder to reach during ovulation.

6) Change of mood or increase of energy

You may also experience mood swings when ovulation is about to start or when you are ovulating. Mood swings very similar to the mood changes you may feel during your period. Some women may feel an energy boost before ovulation.

7) Change in the cervical fluid

Cervical fluid that looks like “egg whites” is a sign that you are approaching ovulation or ovulating. Every woman can experience her own type of cervical fluid, and not all cervical fluids are the same. Ovulation usually occurs the day the woman has the most fluid.

8) Sense of smell

For some women, a more sensitive sense of smell in the second half of the normal menstrual cycle may be a sign of ovulation. In this fertile phase, your body tends to be more attracted to the male pheromone androsterone.

9) Painful or sensitive breasts

The sensitivity or pain of the breast and nipple may be other signs of ovulation, due to the precipitation of hormones that enter your body just before and after ovulation. In reality it is the most widespread and the best sign of ovulation. It is related to the process of hormonal apnea in the body of women. This happens because the body is preparing to conceive.

10) Pelvic pain or mild abdominal pain

Some women may actually feel ovulation – typically as a mild pain in the lower abdomen, (not the same side each time). The sensation, called Mittelschmerz, can last from a few minutes to a few hours. You may also have mild vaginal bleeding, discomfort or nausea, as well as pain, which is usually short and of short duration.
